Apps Installation and Requirements

Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 10.

Autodesk Platforms Supported* for our Apps: Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical | Autodesk AutoCAD | Autodesk AutoCAD Mechanical Autodesk AutoCAD Architecture | Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D | AutoCAD LT is Not supported Platform Versions*: 2018 - 2024 *A few of our Apps are only compatible with select Autodesk products and versions. Each product page will list the compatible platforms.  AutoCAD LT is Not supported because the platform does not load Lisp or ARX files.

Installation and Run Application:

1. Download the MSI package obtained from Autodesk Exchange Store or the CDS Apps Store

2. Run the MSI installer on the computer the app is to be to used.

3. Follow the prompts in the MSI installer and accept the default settings to install.

4. App Data files will be placed in MS Windows system folder: C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins

5. Open your Autodesk product and a notice (balloon) may appear in the upper corner indicating that a new application was installed.

6. On the Ribbon bar in your Autodesk product, pick the Add-ins or Plug-ins tab.

7. Our application will be in the CDS App panel

8. Click on the Application icon to run (if in Trial mode, a dialog appears to either Evaluate or Purchase)

App Appearance

• Our app will create an icon in the Ribbon bar of your Autodesk product. If no ribbon bar is present, then type RIBBON on the command line and press <Enter>.

• In earlier versions of AutoCAD products, the Plug-Ins tab is where apps are installed, while in newer versions, apps are installed in the Add-Ins tab.

Our apps appear in the CDS App panel in either the Plug-Ins tab or Add-Ins tab depending on Autodesk version.

Pick the app icon to run the application (if in trial mode, a dialog box appears to either Evaluate or Purchase).

If you do not see the Add-ins or Plug-ins tab, it may be turned off.
To turn on/enable the Tab, right-click on the ribbon bar and pick Show Tabs>Add-ins

Help Documentation
To get help on using the app, hover over the icon in the CDS App panel and press the F1 key.

Running App

• Pick Continue Evaluation button to use app in trial mode

• Pick the Purchase License button to open a web browser and go to the current application’s purchase webpage and pick “Buy now” button (or go directly our app store online apps.cad-design.com to purchase it there).

• Pick the Enter License key button to paste the key received via email after purchasing the app.
